What is TrailMark?
TrailMark is a static web project — a curated guide to all 63 U.S. National Parks. Each park has its own illustrated SVG badge and a dedicated detail page covering history, key facts, and what makes it worth visiting.
How many parks are listed right now?
All 63 park essays are published. Each one got its own painting, badge, and write-up rather than a filled-in template.
Can I suggest a park or report an error?
Yes. The project is open on GitHub. Open an issue to suggest a correction, report a problem, or propose a feature. Contributions are welcome.
Is TrailMark accessible?
TrailMark is built to WCAG 2.2 AA. Pages work from the keyboard, including the menu, the park filters, and the chapter links on a park page. Text stays at a contrast of at least 4.5:1, including type over paintings. Reduced motion turns off the homepage crossfade, parallax, badge tilt, and scroll reveals, and leaves the content visible. If something blocks you, write through the Contact page.
Is TrailMark affiliated with the National Park Service?
No. TrailMark is an independent project made for personal and educational use. It has no official affiliation with the NPS or any government agency.
